Daniel Hernandez, Jr. is the college student credited with saving U.S. Representative Gabriel Giffords' life in the 2011 Arizona shooting. Hernandez attended to Giffords and others immediately after she was shot in the head during a speech at a local supermarket. Known nationally as a humble hero, Daniel shares the powerful story of the shooting and aftermath of a tragic day in American history. Hernandez was awarded the Campus Pride Inc. "Voice & Action National Leadership Award" in 2011 and leads an inspiring and affirming dialogue around the importance of being an activist, getting involved in politics and becoming change-agents in our communities.
